We've been running a Facebook ad for awhile now. When you put yourself out there, you open yourself up to criticism. At first, I vowed to ignore the comments. But then I realized the comments are important. It's good for us to understand what our customers think of us...but maybe even more important to know what the people that don't become customers are thinking about us!So, I put my thick skin on and took a look.We have A LOT of comments! Many are positive, but the negative ones all boiled down to only five main objections, which mostly just come from misinformation.Let's start off with my favorite complaint and my 2 cents about it...
The color isn't real!"Looks like it’s been dyed red""that’s just photo editing:)""Fyi salmon is not this color""Isn’t it supposed to be lighter in color though?""That is dyed salmon"We are very proud of the naturally bright red color of Copper River Sockeye Salmon! Here's the photo from the Facebook ad showing off that beautiful color:
If you’ve never seen salmon this color, you don’t know what you’re missing! That rich, vibrant red isn’t just beautiful—it’s a sign of something truly special.
Unlike farmed salmon, which often get their color from artificial additives, Copper River Sockeye’s striking hue comes naturally from their wild, cold-water environment and nutrient-rich diet. These fish feast on krill and plankton, which are packed with astaxanthin, a powerful antioxidant that gives their flesh its deep red color.
That same natural compound isn’t just for looks—it’s a sign of superior nutrition. Astaxanthin is known to support heart health, reduce inflammation, and even boost endurance. The more intense the red, the higher the levels of this powerhouse antioxidant, meaning that Copper River Sockeye isn’t just the most beautiful salmon you’ll ever see—it’s one of the healthiest you can eat.
And the flavor? Unmatched. Rich, firm, and packed with a clean, buttery taste that melts in your mouth, Copper River Sockeye is the gold standard of salmon.
Once you’ve had the real thing, you’ll never look at salmon the same way again.
