Honey Lemon Ginger Black Cod with Crispy Green Beans

This simple recipe has a wonderful balance of flavors, so it's not too sweet or spicy or sour, it's just right. It's an air fryer recipe but can also be cooked in the oven.

Ingredients

2 6oz portions Wild Alaskan Sablefish (Black Cod)
1 Tablespoon honey
Tablespoon lemon juice (about 1/2 small lemon)
1 Tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
1 Teaspoon powdered ginger
1 Tablespoon olive oil
2 Cloves of garlic, minced
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Defrost Black Cod by placing in a bowl of COLD water for about 30 min.

Cut from packaging and rinse fish under cold water. Pat dry with paper towel.

Salt Black Cod and let it sit.

Stir together honey, lemon, fresh ginger, powdered ginger and a little more salt. No problem if you only have fresh or powdered ginger on hand.

Instant Pot Air Fryer

Place green beans in pot and add salt, garlic and olive oil.

Add the tray above the green beans, and place the fish on top, flesh side up.

Spoon the honey mixture over the top of the fish.

Cook for 22 minutes at 425 degrees, until golden brown, nice and crispy. No problem to go another couple of minutes because Black Cod doesn't overcook.

Oven

Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees.

Cover a sheet pan with parchment paper, and place fish, flesh side up. Add green beans to the sheet pan.

Add salt, garlic and olive oil to the green beans.

Coat fish with honey mixture.

Bake for 22 minutes at 425 degrees. Broil for a couple minutes until golden brown, nice and crispy. A couple extra minutes is fine, because you Black Cod doesn't overcook.
